“Mackenzie Health is such an important pillar in our community,” said Laura Smith, MPP for Thornhill. “So many of my friends, family and neighbours have received care from its incredible, dedicated, hardworking staff. I am proud of our government for continuing to invest in our hospitals, so that Ontarians have access to the quality care they deserve, and our local health care systems have the tools they need to move forward.”

Ontario is providing $200 million to hospitals through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund and over $8.4 million to community health service providers through the Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund. This funding from the province allows its health care system partners to address urgent infrastructure renewal needs such as upgrades or replacements of roofs, windows, security systems, fire alarms and back-up generators.

“Ensuring Ontario’s hospitals and community health facilities have the infrastructure in place to deliver the high-quality care patients expect and deserve is a priority for our government,” said Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health. “This year’s increased funding will help these facilities address priority renewal needs while ensuring people can continue to receive the world-class care they need in a safe and comfortable environment.”

“Hard-working King and Vaughan families deserve high-quality health care that’s delivered in modern, state-of-the-art facilities, which is why my top priority as MPP was to open the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital — the first net new Hospital in a generation,” said Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan. “By investing in better healthcare at Mackenzie Health, our government is taking action to ensure that we deliver quality and timely care to local families and seniors in their time of need.”

“The Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund (HIRF) and Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund (CIRF) investments will provide crucial support to our hospitals and healthcare providers across the province to continue delivering world class healthcare in our communities,” said Michael Parsa, MPP for Aurora – Oak Ridges – Richmond Hill. “We recognize the vital role of health and community infrastructure play in our health care system and our government is committed to supporting the HIRF and CIRF.”

“With an investment of over $704,170.00 this year, our commitment to community health is resolute,” says Logan Kanapathi, MPP for Markham – Thornhill. “Through Your Health: A Plan for Connected and Convenient Care, Mackenzie Health will benefit from essential upgrades and repairs, backed by the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund and the Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund. This funding reflects our dedication to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring a healthier tomorrow for Markham – Thornhill and York Region.”

“We are grateful for the Ministry of Health’s ongoing support and funding for critical upgrades and repairs at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital as part of the Ontario government’s Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund. With this funding, we will be able to address essential needs such as roof repairs and the replacement of our emergency generator system,” said Altaf Stationwala, President and CEO of Mackenzie Health. “These improvements are vital to maintaining a safe and efficient environment for our patients and staff and will complement our larger effort to refresh Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital so that we can continue to meet the growing needs of our community and improve the experience for everyone who comes through our doors. Thank you to the provincial government for their continued support and commitment to the residents of western York Region.”
