Ontario Government Supporting Non-Profit Organizations in Thornhill

Kayla’s Children Centre to receive $200,000 through the Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital Grant to build new Young Adult Hub

THORNHILL ― The Ontario government is providing Kayla’s Children Centre in Thornhill $200,000 in funding this year through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) Capital grant stream to make it easier for young adults with disabilities to access the critical programming, activities and spaces that enable them to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.

“Our government understands the importance of supports for our most vulnerable,” said Laura Smith, MPP for Thornhill. “I am proud of our government for providing this funding in support of KCC’s new Young Adult Healthy Living Hub. This grant will enable them to continue to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young adults both here in Thornhill and across the GTA.”

OTF’s Capital grant stream helps organizations improve their infrastructure so they can continue delivering programs and services that Ontarians need to thrive. Whether it’s purchasing equipment, building a new space or completing renovations, retrofits or repairs, these grants support projects that are making a difference in Thornhill and across Ontario.

These Capital grants are part of the more than $28 million supporting 291 local programs and services that help deliver critical community programming across province.

“Across Ontario, non-profit organizations are delivering critical programming that is helping people train for new careers, stay active, learn new things and connect with their community,” said Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. “That’s why capital grant support is so important. This funding will help ensure facilities and spaces are accessible, modern and central to communities across our province.”
